Dr. Simmons has spent four decades in biblical scholarship, missionary work, and Scripture translation. His life's work: making the depth and beauty of God's Word accessible to modern readers.

In 1971, Brian Simmons and his wife, Candice, answered a call that would define the rest of their lives: to bring the gospel to unreached people. They moved their young family to the rainforests of Panama, where they spent eight years planting churches among the Paya-Kuna people, a remote tribal group with no written Scripture in their language.

There, Dr. Simmons was trained in linguistics and Bible translation principles. He worked directly with ancient manuscripts, translating the Paya-Kuna New Testament word-by-word.

That experience ignited a passion that would consume the next four decades of his life.

After returning to North America, Dr. Simmons began translating the entire Bible from Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic into what would become The Passion Translation®, a modern, heart-level rendering of Scripture now used by millions worldwide.

But for Dr. Simmons, translation was never enough. He wanted to teach.

Most believers have never been formally trained in Scripture. They read devotionals, attend Bible studies, and listen to sermons, but they're never taught how to study, interpret, or teach the Bible themselves.

That gap became his mission.

Passion Bible School was created to give believers what seminaries have long reserved for the few: real biblical education — systematic, in-depth, and designed to equip ordinary people to teach and lead with confidence.
